ISVCon 2013 will be in the same place as 2012, Reno, Nevada! Reno has exciting casinos, fun shows, great restaurants and a fantastic ISV conference. It also has abundant natural beauty in the surrounding deserts and mountains.

With plenty of things to do and places to go, both in and out of the casinos, Reno is an outstanding place to attend a conference and take a vacation.

Located where the Great Basin Desert and the Sierra Nevada Mountains meet, Reno has the best of both in a high-altitude, dry-weather environment.

On the western edge of Nevada, Reno is only 15 miles from California. San Francisco is a nice 4 hour drive away. You can fly to Los Angeles in just an hour and 20 minutes. Or be adventurous and take the train up from Sacramento, an amazing trip over the Sierra Nevada mountains.

GET HIGH IN RENO

We mean altitude, of course! Reno is 4500 feet (1370 meters) above sea level. The nearby landscape is high-altitude desert, think lots of sand and sagebrush, with very low humidity.

The Sierra Nevada mountains soar above Reno, reaching heights of over 10,000 feet (3000 meters). Those tree-covered mountains are to the west, and in other directions, you'll see smaller mountains covered in sagebrush, sand and rock.

NOT LAS VEGAS

Although both are in Nevada deserts, visiting Reno does not mean you will be near Las Vegas (and that's a good thing). Nevada is a big state, and those two cities are at nearly opposite ends. Reno is 450 miles (725 km) northwest of Las Vegas.

COOLER THAN VEGAS, TOO

Reno is a smaller city than Vegas, and has a much friendlier atmosphere. Blackjack dealers have been known to actually smile at their customers (and even chat with them).

Being farther north, Reno has a cooler climate, too. Summer daytime temperatures average 85°F/30°C, with colder nighttime temps around 60°F/15°C.

IT'S NEVAAAADA

If you want to announce that you're a tourist (and really annoy the locals), mispronounce 'Nevada'.

If you want to sound like a local, make that middle A in 'Nevada' sound like the A in 'apple' or 'that'. Please. It's Nevada, not Nevahda. And we hope we'll see you there.

The Atlantis has 8 award-winning restaurants, and a coffee bar and hot dog eatery, too. (And if you need a meal at 3am, the Purple Parrot Cafe is open 24 hours.)

CASINO

The Atlantis Casino has 32,000 square feet (2900 sq meters) of gaming area, with slots, blackjack, roulette, keno, a new poker room, race and sports book, and more. Some areas of the casino, including the poker room, are smoke-free.
